In such cases, I may be unable to provide a fix, or I may have to change the specifications of this product. Please understand this in advance.
12. Notice Regarding iPhone Support
- On iPhone, this product uses the same interface as on Mac and iPad. The interface is not optimized specifically for the smaller iPhone screen and must be operated by scrolling and zooming in or out. This product works on iPhone, but it is not designed primarily for iPhone. Please understand this in advance.
13. Standalone App
- This product is intended to be used as a plug-in loaded into an AU host. Therefore, please note that the standalone app is a basic app intended for checking product functionality.
- Notes on standalone app functionality
- There is no function for selecting the MIDI device to use.
- There is no function for selecting the audio device to use.
- There are no recording or sequencer functions.
- Sound is not produced in the background.
- Inter-App Audio is not supported.
- AudioBus is not supported.
- Ableton Link is not supported.
14. High CPU Load, Battery Consumption, and Device Heat
- Due to its high CPU load, using this product may increase battery consumption and device heat.
- If CPU usage exceeds the processing capability of the device, audio artifacts may occur, the application or device may slow down, or battery consumption may increase.
15. Audio Artifacts
- This product may produce audio artifacts in situations such as the following.
- Crackle Noise
- When switching presets
- When making large parameter changes quickly over a short period of time
- When changing switch-type parameters or the values of certain other parameters
- When attempting to play more notes than the maximum polyphony
- When DSP processing is overloaded: In general, there is a trade-off between sound quality and CPU usage. Higher sound quality requires a higher processing load, so caution is needed, especially on older devices with lower processing capability. Avoiding CPU-intensive processing may improve operational stability.
- Aliasing Noise
- When playing high-pitched notes, aliasing noise may occur. This may become more noticeable when high-frequency modulation is applied.
16. Audio Output Notice
- Depending on parameter settings, loud sound may be produced. Particular caution is needed when using the randomize function. Please understand this in advance.
- This product hard-clips audio output at 0 dBFS to limit the maximum output level. Therefore, increasing the volume may cause clipping distortion. This distortion may also increase the perceived loudness.
- In the standalone app, sound is produced even if the iPad or iPhone is in Silent Mode. When this product is loaded as a plug-in in an AU host, it follows the specifications of that AU host.
17. Characteristics of the Output Sound
- This product is not designed to reproduce natural sounds, the sounds of existing musical instruments, or the characteristics of audio equipment.
- This product does not have the precise audio reproduction capability required for purposes such as acoustic research and development.
- This product is adjusted to produce sounds preferred by me, the developer. The sound of this product may not be pleasant for everyone.
18. Sound Reproducibility
- Using the same preset (sound data), performance information, or audio signal does not guarantee that the output audio signal will be exactly the same. This product may produce a different audio signal each time, even if the result sounds perceptually identical. Please understand this in advance.
19. Parameters
- In some AU hosts, an unusually high load may occur when a plug-in exposes a large number of parameters to the host. To reduce this load, this product limits the number of parameters exposed to AU hosts. To control parameters that are not directly exposed to an AU host, use the macro function together with the modulation function. Macros are exposed to AU hosts.
- Values displayed for parameters are only approximate and do not indicate exact numerical values. In addition, due to the nature of this product, when parameters are modulated by the modulation function, the displayed values may differ greatly from the values actually applied. Please understand this in advance.
20. Randomize
- Using randomize may cause loud sound to be produced or may cause no sound to be produced. Please understand this in advance.
- The randomize function does not necessarily create musically useful presets.
21. Number and Contents of Factory Presets
- This product includes a small number of simple presets intended as starting points for sound design and feature evaluation. They are not intended to serve as a comprehensive sound library for music production. Factory presets are not added through purchase.
22. User Presets and iCloud Drive
- User presets are saved and synced using iCloud Drive.
- Presets cannot be saved or loaded on devices where iCloud Drive is unavailable or disabled.
- If iCloud Drive is enabled, presets that have already been downloaded to the device remain available while offline. Changes made while offline are synced automatically when the device reconnects to the Internet.
- Loading presets that have not been downloaded to the device takes time. More stable operation can be expected by downloading them in advance using the OS file management app (Mac: Finder / iPad and iPhone: Files app).
- User presets saved in iCloud Drive can be backed up or shared with other users using the OS file management app.
- This product cannot directly handle compressed files. Compressed files must be decompressed with the OS file management app or similar means before use.
- If you change file names or move folders using the OS file management app, bookmarks, program numbers, and similar information associated with those files will be deleted.
- Preset file contents can be modified only by this product.
23. Modulation Limitations
- Only monophonic modulators can be assigned to monophonic parameters.
- Parameters that may produce significant glitch noise when their values are changed do not have a [MOD] button and cannot be used as modulation targets.
24. Not Compatible with MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression)
- Proprietary Per-Note Expression implementation
- This product handles note-on velocity, note-off velocity, and XYZ parameters (pitch bend, slide, and pressure) on a per-note basis. This implementation incorporates some concepts from the MPE specification, but it is based on a proprietary interpretation. Therefore, this product's Per-Note Expression function does not conform to the MPE specification. In addition, Per-Note Expression cannot be used while the arpeggiator is in use. Accordingly, compatibility with third-party MPE-compatible products is limited, and correct operation is not guaranteed when used in combination with such products.
- This product's Per-Note Expression function is implemented for operation with the screen keyboard included in this product.
- Points Where This Product Does Not Conform to the MPE Specification
- This product's screen keyboard cannot sense physical actions such as tapping the screen quickly or pressing it strongly, and it does not send performance information corresponding to such actions to the sound engine.
- This product's screen keyboard cannot handle slide and pressure at the same time.
- This product does not interpret RPN 0 messages. Even if RPN 0 is received, the pitch bend range cannot be changed. The pitch bend range can be changed only through the UI.
- This product does not interpret MCM messages. Zone settings cannot be changed using MCM.
- In this product, you can select from two predefined zone settings. In other words, users cannot configure detailed zone settings. The two predefined zone settings are shown below. Performance using "Per-Note Expression" is possible only in AU hosts that can transmit MIDI using these zone settings.
- Zone setting with master channel 1
- Number of zones: 1
- Master channel: 1
- Member channels: 2 to 16
- Zone setting with master channel 16
- Number of zones: 1
- Master channel: 16
- Member channels: 1 to 15
- Zone setting with master channel 1
- This product always interprets XYZ parameters (X: Pitch Bend, Y: Slide (CC74), and Z: Channel Pressure) sent to member channels as per-note performance information, and this behavior cannot be disabled. However, master-channel Pitch Bend and Channel Pressure always affect all notes.
- This product cannot use the arpeggiator and Per-Note Expression at the same time. While the arpeggiator is in use, MIDI input related to Per-Note Expression is not processed.
- MIDI Channel Handling
- Master Channel
- This product treats pitch bend, pressure, and CC sent to the master channel as monophonic modulation that affects all notes.
- If the AU host sends MIDI messages to this product only on the master channel, this product behaves similarly to an ordinary MIDI sound source.
- Member Channels
- This product provides the following Per-Note Expression functions for each note sent to a member channel.
- XYZ parameters
- Pitch bend
- Slide (CC74: the CC number can be changed)
- Channel pressure
- Velocity: note-on velocity / note-off velocity
- XYZ parameters
- Timbre changes caused by XYZ parameters, note-on velocity, or note-off velocity depend on the sound settings (preset). Depending on the sound settings, these parameters may not change the timbre.
- Up to 15 simultaneous notes can be controlled independently using XYZ parameters.
- If the AU host sends multiple notes on the same member channel, the XYZ parameters for that channel affect all notes sounding on that same channel.
- This product provides the following Per-Note Expression functions for each note sent to a member channel.
- Master Channel
25. Not Compatible with MIDI 2.0
- This product can receive certain high-resolution MIDI 2.0 data, but it is not MIDI 2.0-compatible and implements no other MIDI 2.0 functions.
26. No MIDI Mapping Function
- This product does not have a MIDI mapping function for individually assigning MIDI CCs to individual knobs.
- The macro function, which can be assigned to MIDI CCs, may be usable as a substitute for a MIDI mapping function.
27. Tuning Settings
- Note-specific tuning adjustments are limited to the 12 notes within one octave and are repeated in every octave.
- It is not possible to tune all keys individually.
28. Screen Visibility
- If the text size set in the system differs greatly from the standard text size, the layout may break or text may be truncated and not fully displayed.
- The colors used in this product's GUI are limited to predefined colors, and users cannot freely change them.
- This product can zoom the screen in and out, but depending on the plug-in window size, the screen may become difficult to view.
29. Manual
- The manual is provided only as a web page and is not provided in other formats such as PDF.
- The manual on the website is revised from time to time when I determine it to be necessary.
30. Disclaimer
- To the extent permitted by applicable law, I am not responsible for data loss, hearing damage or other physical harm, or damage to or failure of devices, peripheral equipment, or similar items arising from the use of this product. Please understand this in advance.
31. Changes to This Notice
- This notice may be changed without prior notice.
